Consider this card the calm before the storm. Tomorrow will be the best day of racing at Saratoga thus far this meet, but before that, a Friday full of competent (if not stellar) competition awaits. Let’s get through it together.

After a brief hiatus, Paddy’s Picks is back with analysis for a very solid card at Saratoga. There’s nothing too memorable in display here, but at the same time, there are few better ways to spend a weekday than looking at a competitive card. Let’s take a look.

With a new day comes a new and exciting card from Saratoga Racecourse. Beyond the G2 Baruch later in the day, there are several excellent allowance fields that may provide bettors with some value. It’s Sunday cards like these that separate Saratoga from every other track in the country.

Saturdays are always the best at Saratoga, and this card doesn’t disappoint. Sistercharlie will make her return in the G2 Ballston Spa while a compact but talented field will face off in the G1 Vanderbilt. There’s a ton of talent and value in all of the races in between, which is exactly what bettors are looking for in August at The Spa.

This is a Saratoga day for the ladies, as the first seven races on this card are restricted to fillies and mares. It’s the kind of card that improves significantly as the day progresses, and while the first few races may be pretty unappetizing, the graded stakes feature should keep some people around.

This is a very good day of racing at Saratoga. There’s nothing too special, but the quality overall is excellent, which is really what sets this track apart from the rest of the country. It’s even more exciting to consider that we’re only getting started.

Wednesday racing begins this week at Saratoga, and a reasonably strong card makes it a very interesting day for handicappers. It’s certainly worth a look for handicappers blessed with time

This is a quiet day at Saratoga, but even light days offer very solid races up here. There’s some money to be made here, but it will prove very difficult on a very tricky card.

If bettors aren’t playing this Saratoga card today, then they must not like this sport. This card is classy and extremely difficult at certain points, which is the type of Saturday one an expect up here. The fact that this is just one of many such cards this summer is a very exciting thought.
